Peter Boyer conducted three shows for singer and multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban, on his Stages World Tour. Boyer was engaged as a substitute for Josh Groban’s tour conductor Sean O’Loughlin, on dates which were rescheduled due to Groban’s recent illness: Bass Concert Hall, Austin, TX 12/19; Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Houston 12/21; Music Hall at Fair Park, Dallas, TX 12/22. All three shows played to sold out audiences.
Josh Groban’s Stages repertoire comes from the world of musical theater, and includes such classic songs as “All I Ask of You” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, “Bring Him Home” from Boublil and Schönberg’s Les Misérables, “Finishing the Hat” from Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, and “If I Loved You” from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, among others. The album has already sold more than half a million copies.
The orchestral arrangements for the Stages album and tour were done by some of the most accomplished arrangers working today, including William Ross, Chris Walden, Bernie Herms, Bill Elliott, and Sean O’Loughlin.
Groban, known for such songs as “You Raise Me Up” and “The Prayer,” has sold over 25 million records worldwide.
