Peter Boyer’s Silver Fanfare opened the Hollywood Bowl’s 2017 season, for the third year in a row, as the piece chosen to begin Opening Night at the Bowl with The Moody Blues on June 17. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Wilkins, performed Boyer’s work while a video montage from past Bowl Opening Nights was projected. Silver Fanfare also opened the 2015 and 2016 Bowl seasons in the same fashion, at a sold-out gala concerts headlined by iconic rock bands Journey and Steely Dan.
