On September 3, 2023, the National Symphony Orchestra performed Peter Boyer’s work Celebration Overture as part of its annual Labor Day Weekend Concert at the United States Capitol. The conductor was Enrico Lopez-Yañez, who has conducted Boyer’s music many times in recent years.

This was the third performance of Boyer’s music by the NSO, and the fourth performance of his music at the Capitol, including for the inauguration of President Biden. Celebration Overture, composed in 1997, shortly after Boyer completed his formal education, is one of his earliest works to be performed regularly.
